Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Increased demand in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday resulted in a stellar day of orders for many traders. The eastern mills participated some, but much of the business was done through the reloads. Their key to success was mixing a variety of products on a truck with timely deliveries at competitive prices. Less available supply at the mills kept prices firm with some items moving slightly higher. Deliveries from them were unlikely before turkey with the week after quickly filling up with commitments. Dealers remained busy, not straying far from keeping a tight rein on inventories.
