There was no letup in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Although slow to start, demand and activity picked up as the day progressed ending up with a better-than-expected day of sales overall. The eastern mills helped by having more products become available with some even able to deliver sooner than previously thought. There was an announcement out west from Canfor that they will curtail production at their Polar Sawmill located in British Columbia. This will remove approximately 140 million board feet over six months, after an orderly wind-down of operations there.
