The momentum strengthened in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Sales and activity increased as demand and buying interest improved. There was a rush to get upcoming commitments covered while prices were relatively low ahead of the upcoming Thanksgiving break. Distributors had ongoing success supplying anxious dealers in need of quick delivering material while the mills saw new business on key products. These hot selling items remained tight in supply as prices appreciated on them. There were accumulations that were discounted to sell but on very selective items.
