Although demand and activity quieted down to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market, the mills were not overly concerned after having a very strong week selling. Spruce prices appreciated on desirable items as supplies tightened on many of them. There was mixed reaction from the market as some clients were quieter than they have been while others searched for items to cover upcoming commitments. Distributors were very busy supplying and delivering product as the upcoming Thanksgiving break minimized the eastern mills abilities to be as effective.
