Demand and activity slowed in the eastern spruce lumber market last Wednesday, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. The work shortened week did produce an array of orders to the mills, but the volume transacted was diminished. There were some last-minute dealer needs which the reloads were able to fill more efficiently than the mills, but overall demand was less. Prices on most random dimension lengths rose slightly but stud items saw mixed changes. With eastern Canadian mills all working last week, high expectations are set for more lumber to be available to start the week.
