Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a rousing start to the week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was steady throughout the day with the mills and reloads both getting their fair share of orders. The eastern mills had product to offer but not the abundance or variety that may have been expected. Some items were even more difficult for them to quote, especially in the wider dimensions of 2x8 and 2x10. Clients for the most part did not hesitate to buy when they found what they wanted or needed. There seemed more confidence in the market to do so than to wait.
