Demand and activity in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday was not as hectic as it was on Monday. The eastern mills and reloads continued getting orders but the volume of transactions diminished. The mills looked to the market to see where prices were on what they had for sale without seeming to be too anxious about it. Dealers for the most part stayed alert not wanting to pay higher on what they already have but willing to buy more if an opportunity presented itself. Prices remained stable with little movement now. If anything, they were grinding higher.
