The mills were more active in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. They traded on price to motivate buyers and energize sales, picking their spots and the items to trade on. Some things sold more easily than others, all predicated on what got a better return to the mills. Delivery times also became a factor as many of them were bucking up against their holiday shutdowns and the capacity to ship prior. The mills did entertain taking orders for after they return, which drew interest but were limited in scope. Most mills are down completely during the holidays.
