Bill's Corner-An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity was slow to begin yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market but as demand evolved orders poured in. It made for a strong start to the week. The mills sold well, trading on price on the items they could ship quickly but not letting up by taking orders for anything they may have in the beginning of the year. Distributors though were the mainstay for the business transacted, utilizing their inventories to captivate interest and demand while not letting prices get in the way of taking orders. Being able to make timely deliveries also helped them corral the business at hand.
