It was understandably very quiet yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The Canadians were observing Boxing Day while several U.S. traders and clients were off enjoying extended holidays. It was a good day to prepare and organize for the future while caring for current orders and other situations. It was also a great day to pick up the phone and reintroduce yourself to your clientele, at least for the ones that were around. Several eastern mills will have staff at their desks today and tomorrow giving the chance of putting some business together.
