The eastern spruce lumber market woke up from an extended holiday nap with solid demand and activity seen yesterday. Most of the orders generated were directed to the reloads as many mills were absent from the market. Shipments from them were out to mid-January not because of a lack of equipment to deliver on but due to less supply from them to sell. Reliance for quicker and dependable deliveries fell to the reloads along with the varied mix of products they could provide. Published prices continued to appreciate, playing catch up to what the mills have been able to attain.
