Happy New Year and welcome to 2024. Optimism and confidence are high for good business this year. Many of our Canadian counterparts are off today, with most returning tomorrow. The eastern spruce lumber market ended last year with prices on the uptick on demand that was more consistent than not. Eastern mill supply is lite to begin the new year as a steady flow of orders over the last few weeks helped them establish a good order file. Production remains stable from them with shipments running into mid-month with some able to deliver selective items next week.
