Despite many Canadian mills being absent from the market yesterday it was still a healthy start to the New Year for orders. Demand was strong. Quick needs were addressed by the reloads but given time, buyers anxiously awaited the mills when many of them return to the market starting today. They wanted to be aware and peruse any new mill offerings to see if any of them lagged in the price appreciation seen on many spruce items lately. Wholesalers leveraged previously bought lumber to attain orders giving credence to lower numbers that were seen and heard in the market.
