Very strong demand led to a slew of orders being transacted in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Anxious traders abounded with the return of the Canadian mills to the market, making activity non-stop throughout the day. Some buyers reacted quickly to what the mills had to offer while others seeing higher than expected prices kept their purchases at bay, hoping for less expensive options as time went on. Demand was on a wide variety of items with the mills having more to offer such as stud items but less of others to sell such as board products.
