Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was no letup of activity in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Strong demand led to a continued flow of orders for both the mills and various reloads. Prices were firm in the market with some allowances made by distributors wanting to keep certain items selling and moving. The variety and depth of product available from the mills though was quite diminished due to the recent influx of orders. They were also more defensive in their quotes and not as aggressive in selling product that was not on the ground. Most mills were well into the month on shipments with few exceptions.
