The eastern spruce lumber market kept up its momentum yesterday. Demand and activity remained strong, with the mills and distributors sustaining a steady flow of orders. Prices were stable but firm, especially at the mill level. There was very little give from them although clients had quotes that varied from item to item and place to place. There seemed to be enough product in enough places to keep them from buying too much or too far ahead. Uncertainty lurked about, keeping some from buying, despite all the positive economic signs and energy seen in the marketplace.
