Although business tapered off last Friday in the eastern spruce lumber market, there was solid demand and activity throughout the week. The orders attained bolstered mill order files and kept distributors busy filling in quick needs. Mill shipments are into the end of the month. Buyers were active sourcing product and looking for any opportunities that presented themselves. Prices were mostly unchanged on many items. Sales were especially strong on low grade products with a noticeable shortage of supply in the face of increased demand and need.
