Wintry weather slowed activity and sales in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The eastern mills did not have a full basket of items to sell but they did struggle to find interest on the things they did have. Clients voiced having enough of them for the moment. Demand was still evident, but priorities were on other concerns. Prices were suspect on the items the mills wanted to sell but firm on the things that clients looked to buy. By products such as low-grade material were tight in supply and difficult to find. Prices varied and were hard to pinpoint on them.
