There were improvements in demand and activity in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Although clients stopped short of buying anything extra, the mills continued to sell and take orders. Many of them were into early February with shipments and were limited in the variety of products they could offer. Wintry weather has had its effect of slowing down the flow of product and sales this week, but this does not change that many have solid business and commitments ahead. This pause is allowing time to prepare when prices are low, and many items are undervalued.
