Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was more difficult trading yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market. Prices seemed to vary from quote to quote, mill to mill with little consistency or direction from either. Traders were often left guessing as to what to do. There was demand but it was hard getting commitments. They tried but got fewer orders than expected. What seemed a good deal to some were not so much for others. The feeling was that prices were weak, but reality was that they were not as soft as many were thinking or hoping. The mills were resistant to offers, often giving up little to none.
