Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

For lack of no better word, consistency would describe activity last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Demand and sales were on par with the preceding weeks. There was enough supply to care for the demand and there was enough demand to keep prices relatively unchanged. The exception was 9’ material which notably higher. Clients seemed more confident as spring approaches but for the most part they kept their purchases on a tight rein, replacing as they sold. Buyers lacked urgency but were cautious and attentive for any potential changes or disruptions that might influence the status quo.
