Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The mills were very busy selling yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market, attaining higher prices on several items. The recent appreciation of prices has allowed a two-tiered market to develop, making it difficult to trade for some. Buyers scurried anxiously about looking for the cheapest options available, often finding the two-tiered market thinning quickly and that mills lacked the depth of product wanted. Distributors with healthy inventories were able to capitalize, having a strong day of sales and often looking to the mills to replenish.
