Although overall sales were lite to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market, prices were on the upswing. The lack of offerings from the mills helped put a damper on orders. Several mills were off the market after a solid week of sales. Many items were in high demand putting pressure on prices and a strain on what the mills had available to sell throughout the week. Attention turned to distributors, but they were quick to revise prices, keeping deals to a minimum. To add to the activity seen, there was additional demand from some retailers ahead of the LBM show this week in Orlando.
