Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The lack of supply from the mills to start the week yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market kept sales from having a more prolific day than what transpired. The mills did not have as much to offer after the number of orders generated last week. Asking prices were also in flux with many items higher than they have been. Buyers needed to do their due diligence in sourcing the wide variety of inquiry, much of which may not have been covered by day’s end. Activity was a mix of proactive offers from traders as well as real time demand from retailers and manufacturers.
