Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a banner day for sales in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Orders that did not get filled on Monday came to fruition on Tuesday. Demand was strong. Prices were firm. The mills sold well solidifying their order files. Most had orders for shipment into early March. Distributors were also busy with quicker deliveries and more structured shipments. The number of orders transacted put pressure on prices to move higher, creating reluctancy by clients to buy more. How much activity and follow through will the market see today that would give them cause to do so.
