Strong demand led to heavy activity with many orders being transacted in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Clients were focused on what was being offered and not hesitating to buy when something presented fit. Traders wished and hoped for more that was available from the mills, but they lacked the depth and variety needed to supply the many inquiries seen in the marketplace. Distributors had what was needed in many cases but their firm to higher asking prices stifled potential business making clients search more intently. Competition was felt on many fronts.
