It was another stellar day in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was strong with prices continuing to edge higher. A two-tiered market had developed as replacement costs were higher than at prices some orders were lost to. This kept buyers on point making sure all sources were checked. Mill order files ranged between two to three weeks with the mills reluctant to go out further. There were signs of production lagging causing some delays. The mills were shipping a few days later rather than a few days earlier causing some frustration on expectant deliveries.
