It was a solid start for sales yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market. Demand was consistent throughout the day. Mill offering lists were much thinner than many expected or had hoped for. The mills were able to sell at their asking prices on the items they did have for sale. Prices mirrored published numbers to a certain extent with some mills quoting higher. Counters fell on deaf ears. Distributors had the upper hand over the mills with the variety of products they could provide. The mills could ship certain items quickly but were very limited as to what those were.
