Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was no letup in demand and activity yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market. Product sold quickly. There was also a more sense of urgency among clients wanting to secure product. There was not a lot of any one thing available from the mills. Much that was offered was higher priced. This slowed sales somewhat for the mills. Clients turned to other sources such as wholesalers and distributors, finding some things cheaper but not very many. Shipments from the mills were out two to three weeks with some signs of railcar delays popping up on the Canadian side.
