Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Although it was quieter most of yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market, there was a burst of buying and activity late in the day. Maybe there was a realization that supply was tighter than what was thought. Maybe there was an uptick in business somewhere. Maybe it was seeing prices continuing to climb higher. Regardless of why, there were no signs in slowing up the momentum of the market. With many mills having shipments only in April, there was time and value to securing product, when it can be scheduled to come in later rather than sooner and with prices still at reasonable levels.
