Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was little improvement in demand yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market. The pace of business slowed. Supply remained tight from the mills. Prices were trending higher. Clients seemed content on what they have and what they have coming. They were willing to buy more but not to pay more to get. That said, their participation in the market depends on how busy they are. Recent indications were that they were getting busier and the outflow of product through their yards was increasing. It was more urgent that what they have on order come in sooner than later.
