The pace of business eased in the eastern spruce lumber market last week. Demand was consistent day to day, but the market lacked the energy and sense of urgency seen in recent weeks. The eastern mills saw order files dwindle as the rate of incoming orders slowed. More supply became available from them as the week progressed. Clients were more selective with what and how much they bought, although they remained confident in the market and the business yet to come.
