It was a lighter day for demand and sales in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The mills lowered prices on items that have not been moving well of late but leaving prices unchanged on things that have. Retailers kept purchases lite, filling in when necessary but more importantly keeping cash reserves aside to pay for invoices coming due on specialty products previously bought. Repercussions from the Baltimore bridge collapse are uncertain, but the impact is expected to affect many industries and markets.
