Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Sales eased in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand and activity still had a strong presence in the market. Energy was high. Clients reacted to the less expensive offerings presented them. Those that set their sights on even lower numbers ran into more resistance. The mills were willing to trade on price but not to the extremes that some had in mind. The mills leveraged their order files, picking and choosing which items to sell. Many have shipments into the second week of April.
