Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand and activity continued to ease in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday with wintry weather playing its part. Eastern mill supply has increased in the marketplace due to lack of sales. Prices have dropped slightly as a result. Clients have backed away from buying extra. It is easy to get lulled into a false sense of security that there will be enough supply when the time comes, and it is needed. Consumption has been steady with indications of improving. Mill production is not increasing. What is your risk tolerance?
