Demand perked up yesterday to start the week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Retailers filled in holes that had recently developed and waited to see what happens in the market to buy more. Distributors stayed aggressive in selling what they have. The mills have product and lowered their asking prices on many of the items they could deliver within the next few weeks. Many mills and traders are traveling to attend the Montreal Wood Convention which starts in earnest tomorrow.
