Activity and sales slowed in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was good but clients held off buying until more information could be had. Many awaited where published prices would come out at this morning, knowing that they would be lower. The question was by how much. Heavy inquiry indicated that some clients were poised to step in and buy some product, maybe to cover upcoming commitments or just confident that the timing was right to do so.
