Steady best describes the sales and activity last Friday and for the overall week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Demand was consistent and orders flowed daily as a result. The reloads were the recipients for much of the business transacted while many mills and traders attended the Montreal Wood Convention. Although it was hard to find optimism for the market and prices in the short term among the attendees, many felt confident that it would fare better in the weeks and months to come.
