Soft prices in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday thwarted efforts by mills and traders to getting orders. Clients became hesitant. If they could wait, they held off potential purchases. Very aggressive quotes echoed throughout the marketplace. The mills were at odds as to what to take for offers and what not to. Few orders and building supply made it difficult for them to decide. Once a level was found to trade at though, they quickly became stringent on accepting lower numbers.
