Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The eastern mills were busy to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Last minute purchases indicated that some wanted to go into the weekend with nothing hanging over their heads, that commitments were covered. It was felt that this was not a market to take chances with. Prices were already low, with some items back to before last winter numbers. The mills had supply. They adjusted their prices accordingly to sell, but they did not overextend themselves by taking orders too far in advance.
