Demand and activity were strong and vibrant in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Buyers steadily chased after the mills for material throughout the day. The Eastern mills sold heavily, firming up prices along the way. Some mills got a belly full of orders and went off the market, others continued to sell. Some items that had been depressed in price lately turned about and rose in value. Clients seemed more confident, feeling that prices have seen their lows and it was not a bad time to buy.
