Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity was slow to get going yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market, but demand gained traction throughout the day making it a solid start to the week. Orders were not as prolific for the mills though. The bulk of the business transacted was centered on having a previously owned position or a reload inventory to draw from. It was not price that deferred business away from the mills but a lack of product available from them. Shipments also factored in with distributors having the upper hand in most cases.
