Despite many Canadian mills being on holiday, yesterday turned out to be a very active day in the eastern spruce lumber market. Demand was strong from many clients and on several different items. The bulk of the business transacted was covered by distributor’s inventories with the variety of products they had and their ability to schedule deliveries. Also, because many mills were away, it would stand to reason that a lot of the demand seen yesterday went unfulfilled, waiting for more options to be presented in the marketplace.
