The eastern spruce lumber market remained active yesterday although traders seemed to have a harder time nailing down orders. Demand was vibrant but there was a range of prices they competed against. In many cases the aggressive pricing was often difficult to fathom and overcome. Recent mill reports have suggested a tightening of production but for the moment there seems to be a good balance between supply and demand, keeping prices in check and mill shipments within a reasonable timeframe for clients.
