Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Good supply from both the mills and distributors helped generate solid activity and sales in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Orders transacted were relatively close to published prices. There were attempts to buy much cheaper, but those offers were generally refuted. Buying philosophies of maintaining lean inventories has changed little. There seems to be enough supply to feed the current demand, although continuing announcements of mills reducing future production is becoming more disconcerting.
