Demand and activity picked up in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. There was a growing sense that supply is tightening and that there is likely to be less than more over the next several weeks leading into August. There was more interest to have product coming besides just filling in the day-to-day. Make no mistake it was difficult trading yesterday as competition was very aggressive and traders were highly motivated to getting orders. Prices varied on many quotes with clients taking advantage whenever and where they could.
