Activity was lite for the few that worked last Friday in the eastern spruce lumber market. There was better activity earlier in the week prior to the long holiday weekend. The eastern Canadian mills are gearing up for their holiday shutdowns which start the week of July 21st and stretch into early August. Shutdowns and deliveries vary among them. There does not seem to be much concern in the marketplace as clients feel there is adequate supply to care for their current and upcoming needs, most notably from distributors.
