Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity was focused on the mills to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. With many of the eastern Canadian mills amid their summer shutdowns, buyers looked to see what options or opportunities were available from them. Whether it was product that could be bought at a discount for quick delivery or not paying a premium for a later shipment held attention. Prices for the most part were firm if not slightly higher at the mill level. Distributors were poised to react to any changes felt or seen in the market.
