Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The lack of supply in the market had its effect in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The number of transactions could have been higher had there been more options for clients to source product from. There was hope given time, that better supply would emanate from the mills. Product from them was especially tight, most notably in 2x6 and 2x10. Distributors that normally would have been able to fill the void were more defensive with what they did have, careful not to overextend themselves while protecting certain lengths.
