Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Frustrations reached new highs for buyers in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. No quotes from the mills became commonplace elevating levels. Supply from them was tight as many were just getting back into production after a two-week hiatus. Many mills also have commitments on various items allowing them to ask for higher prices on future quotes and deliveries. Clients leaned on distributors to cover immediate needs while seeking options from the mills but finding few. Prices also appreciated with the uptick in demand.
